Track Cycling

The British royals were out in force to watch Team GB in track cycling today. Princess Anne, Tim Lawrence, Prince Harry, Peter Phillips, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie were the viewers. (Sarah Ferguson was also with her children.)

Equestrian

Princess Nathalie of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg competed in the team dressage event today. The Princess placed 9th out of the rest of the competitors, but unfortunately Team Denmark finished in 4th position, just out of the medals. Nathalie did, however, record a high enough score to compete in tomorrow’s individual dressage event! The Princess is of course Queen Margrethe and Queen Anne-Marie’s niece, so the Danish and Greek royals were out in force. Queen Margrethe, Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Princess Benedikte, Queen Anne-Marie, Crown Prince Pavlos and Princess Theodora watched alongside Princess Anne.

Tuesday afternoon on 7 August 2012 witnessed the royal family dressage at Greenwich Park. The photo shows HRH The Crown Prince and Crown Princess of TRH Prince Christian and Princess Isabella, who had come to London the previous evening.

The London 2012 Olympic Games, Day Four

It was certainly an equestrian day for royalty.

Equestrian

Wow! Zara Phillips became the first member of the British Royal Family to win an Olympic medal. The British eventing team won silver! Of course, many royals from Britain came to cheer her on, including the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Harry, Princess Anne, Peter and Autumn Phillips, Mike Tindall, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. However, Prince Daniel and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden also came to cheer on Sara Algotsson Osholt. Also in attendance were Prince Willem-Alexander, Princess Maxima and their brood.

Bea and Eugenie showed their support for the second day running but today they didn't sit with their cousins and took a seat behind their mother and Camilla

The London 2012 Olympic Games, Day Two

Today was a busy day for our royal Olympic watchers.

Equestrian

Zara Phillips made her Olympic debut today at Greenwich Park. Her grandfather, Prince Philip, her mother, Princess Anne, her brother, Peter Phillips and her sister-in-law Autumn Phillips watched her compete in the dressage event. Also joining the British royals was Princess Benedikte.

Beach Volleyball

Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit attended some beach volleyball games at Horseguards Parade.

Field Hockey

There was a match between the Netherlands and Belgium today in the women’s field hockey event. Prince Willem-Alexander, Princess Maxima, Princess Catharina-Amalia, Princess Alexia, Princess Ariane, Countess Luana and Countess Zaria cheered on the Netherlands. Luana and Zaria are Prince Friso and Princess Mabel’s daughters. To cheer on Team Belgium was Prince Philippe, Princess Mathilde, Princess Elisabeth, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel and Princess Eleonore.

Judo

The Belgian royals also attended the bronze-medal match of the 52kg class.

Rowing

Crown Prince Haakon attended the lightweight double sculls today.
